How The Store Came About
In 1977, Cheryl (yes, THE Cheryl) opened a store in 3rd Street, Springs CBD. She started off with a small amount of stock, mostly dresses and shoes, but nonetheless gained huge support from the Springs ladies.
Cheryl added wool, material and other haberdashery to her client offering. Soon she had to expand to a shop in 4th Street to accommodate all the stock.
The New Shop
After being in business for more than 40 years, Cheryl’s deserved new premises. The Springs Mall opened , and a house diagonally across from the mall became available. This was an excellent opportunity for it to be renovated and converted into a stylish, modern store. There was even space for an ample parking lot. The new store opened in August 2019.
Many people in Springs have been impacted by Cheryl’s, whether they know it or not. From the matric dress you wore, the jersey your mom knitted for you, to the handbag granny keeps her purse and sweets in, Cheryl’s was there.
